Blending your ads in color with your blog tend to be most effective. Also you do not want ads to block out content or shy users away from the content but at the same time your ads shuold be visible to visitors.
Unfortunately, you cannot choose your ads and it is automatically done by the crawlers that pick up information located on your site. There is a way you can downplay or emphasize certain ad content with section targeting, which can be foudn here: https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=23168

Great, it definitely seems blended now.
At least that's what AdSense says is best, for the ads to be blended...who really knows for sure. I know I prefer blended ads myself to be more in line with everything else on the page.
